Woodland Park Zoo's Raindrop Game

Greetings from The Sky!

Play the part of a water molecule on its adventure through Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, Washington! Reminiscent of early-to-mid-90s educational programs, Woodland Park Zoo's Raindrop Game was created to help students grades 3-5 understand the many forms water takes as it moves through the water cycle.

This game includes:

• • An introduction to how water molecules form raindrops
  • A choose-your-own-adventure-style simulation of the movement of water molecules through the water cycle, including respiration and transpiration
  • Over a dozen different "endings" (but we both know the water cycle never really ends!)
  • The option to have a real human voice read all text aloud
  • Photographs from across the Zoo

About the Game

The Raindrop Game began as a printable card game for students in grades 3-5. Students would roll dice to represent the path of their raindrop and draw from the appropriate pile depending on their dice roll. To be compatible with school learning management systems, it was adapted into the SCORM format using Adobe Captivate.
